What this template is for

Activation is a handful of actions after which the user gets value; until they are done, leaving is easy. The checklist stays at hand, shows progress and ticks itself — by URL, by a click or by an event from your code.

What the user sees

StepAnchored toCopy
1—Complete your profile
A name and photo help teammates recognise you.
2—Create your first project
A project keeps your work together.
3—Invite a teammate
Work is easier together.
4—Connect an integration
Bring in data from the tools you already use.

The step anchors in a template are [data-tour="…"] placeholders. In the visual editor you point them at your own elements by clicking, or add that attribute in your markup; the copy is edited in the same place.

Why these defaults

  1. 4 items: fewer is not enough to activate, more makes the list look like work.
  2. Items tick themselves (URL, click, Clew.complete()) — nobody has to tick boxes.
  3. Shown always: it lives in the corner until everything is done and never covers the work.
  4. Priority 0 — tours and announcements go on top, the checklist stays beside them.
