"What's new" hover hint
A marker next to a menu item that explains itself on hover.
What this template is for
A "new" badge catches the eye but does not say what changed. A hover hint explains it to exactly the people who are curious and bothers no one — nothing pops up by itself.
What the user sees
| Step | Anchored to | Copy |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | [data-tour="whats-new"] | What's new Reports can now be exported to Excel and emailed on a schedule. |
The step anchors in a template are [data-tour="…"] placeholders. In the visual editor you point them at your own elements by clicking, or add that attribute in your markup; the copy is edited in the same place.
Why these defaults
- Shown on hover after 400 ms — a mouse passing by does not trigger it.
- Shown always: it is help at the element, not an announcement.
- No close button: it goes away when the pointer leaves.
- On every page that has the [data-tour="whats-new"] element.
