Free UX writing and copywriting tools

FAQ
What makes good tooltip copy?
One idea per tooltip, a verb-first action, under about 150 characters, no jargon and no repeating the button label. The tooltip copy checker flags length, wordy phrases, passive voice and weak button text.
How is readability measured?
Formulas like Flesch Reading Ease combine sentence length and word length. The checker shows the score and highlights the sentences that pull it down.
How long can an email subject line be?
Mobile inboxes show about 30–40 characters, desktop about 60. The preview shows where the subject and preheader are cut in popular clients.
What is the difference between UX writing and copywriting?
Copywriting persuades someone to act, UX writing helps them complete the action inside the product. Both depend on short, clear text, and these tools check both.
How long does it take to read a tooltip?
Adults read about 200–250 words per minute on screen. A 25-word tooltip needs roughly 7–8 seconds including time to notice it; the reading time calculator does the math for a whole tour.
Are the texts I paste stored?
No. Text is analyzed in your browser and never sent to a server.
